Butter chicken
has long maintained a distinctive place in Indian culinary history. Its appeal has not diminished. Sometime in the 1950s, it first appeared in Delhi, the capital city of India. Kundan Lal Gujral, a man, ran the Moti Mahal restaurant in the city during this time. Legend has it that the cooks at Moti Mahal would stew the tandoor-cooked chicken in the remaining marinade juices, butter, and tomato. They probably had no idea they had discovered a dish that was well-known throughout the world. The best things in life are frequently stumbled upon by accident, though, and that is a natural aspect of life.
